The Fertile Earth Method
You've been trying for a while now. Maybe you've had the full workup and been told everything looks normal. Maybe you have a diagnosis, but the plan attached to it hasn't changed anything. Either way, the effort you're putting in hasn't added up to a result, and you want to understand why before you spend another cycle guessing.
Fertility acupuncture at Fertile Earth in Encinitas starts there — with the why. We figure out what's driving your fertility challenges, then treat it in the order your body can use.
Infertility follows a pattern, and your strategy should follow it too.
Three things that make this approach different
Your Fertility Type comes first
Your Fertility Type is the guiding factor in deciding which treatment strategies will work best for you. It tells us where your body is holding the problem, so the plan fits you specifically.
The right things are treated first
Treatment at Fertile Earth follows a specific sequence because your body has one. The order is deliberate — each layer creates the conditions the next one depends on.
Consistency is what makes it hold
Consistent care is what lets each layer of treatment take root. Three months is the biological minimum, because that's how long a follicle takes to develop from recruitment to ovulation. You're working within the rhythm your body already runs on.
The Fertile Earth Method
Treatment moves through four key stages — four categories of influence on your fertility. Addressing them in this sequence is what prevents wasted effort. Most protocols work on all four at once and hope something lands; this one works through them in the order your body can use.
Stage One: Resolve the Exterior
Reduce inflammation, immune stress, and hidden pathogen load.
Stage Two: Fortify the Center
Restore digestive function, metabolism, and nutrient absorption, so your body has the resources it needs to produce healthy eggs and hormones.
Stage Three: Harmonize the Pivot
Support nervous system balance and healthy hormone signaling between your brain and your ovaries.
Stage Four: Free the Flow
Improve circulation to the uterus and ovaries so follicles, ovulation, and implantation are well supported.
Strategy that goes beyond isolated lab values
Many fertility treatments focus narrowly on hormones. Hormones work as part of a larger network, in constant communication with your digestion, your nervous system, your immune function, and your circulation. Move one, and you move the others.
Treatment at Fertile Earth follows a strategic order of operations grounded in Eastern medicine physiology — a system thousands of years old that reads the body as an interplay of environment, lifestyle, and your own inherited health potential. For change to hold, your body's systems get restored in the right sequence. That's what lets treatment reach the root patterns driving your symptoms, instead of chasing lab values.

This approach is built for you if you're:
Ovulating regularly but still not getting pregnant
Being told everything looks "normal," while something still feels off
Over 35 and wanting to support egg quality and hormone balance
Living with a diagnosis — PCOS, endometriosis, DOR, unexplained infertility — and wanting care matched to the pattern underneath the label
Dealing with irregular cycles, PMS, or spotting before your period
Preparing for or currently in an IVF or IUI cycle
Ready for a coherent, sequenced strategy for your fertility
By the time you're looking into fertility acupuncture, you're often already doing everything right — eating well, exercising, tracking your cycle — and pregnancy still hasn't happened. Fertility acupuncture works by restoring the physiological systems that let conception happen.
What Fertility Acupuncture Does
When your body is functioning well, ovulation, hormone signaling, and uterine receptivity happen on their own. Fertility acupuncture supports these processes by improving the communication between your brain, ovaries, and uterus, and by restoring circulation and nervous system balance.
Patients often notice:
More consistent ovulation
Stronger progesterone production after ovulation
Improved blood flow to the uterus and ovaries
Fewer PMS symptoms
Better sleep and reduced stress physiology
Healthier cervical fluid and cycle patterns
Over time, these improvements build a physiological environment that supports conception and a healthy pregnancy.

When you don’t have a plan, more information doesn’t help.
When you don't know what's driving your fertility challenges — even with a diagnosis — it's easy to end up doing a lot of things that never quite add up to a plan. The Fertile Earth approach cuts through that: your Fertility Type tells us where to focus, and the clinical sequence tells us in what order. Your nutritional, herbal, and lifestyle strategies are then tailored to where you are specifically.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
A typical fertility treatment plan starts with weekly treatments across about four cycles. Within that window, it's common to see meaningful changes in your cycle, your period, your BBT chart, and other hormone markers. Your best chances of success come when those markers reach certain benchmarks. Because every body carries its own history and responds at its own pace, there's no single timeline that fits everyone.
-
Sometimes. For some patients — especially with a history of early loss or miscarriage — I'll suggest pausing on TTC until certain hormone markers reach a more ideal range. In other cases, there's no need to take a break from trying.
-
Absolutely. IVF is emotionally and physically demanding. Regular acupuncture from priming through the two-week wait can improve egg quality and responsiveness during the stim phase, ease medication side effects, improve endometrial receptivity and implantation, and support you through the emotional highs and lows. More detail lives on the IVF Support Acupuncture page.

No — my practice focuses entirely on women. That said, I always recommend that male partners get a semen analysis and commit to foundational nutrition and supplementation while you're TTC.
