Before You Arrive
After making your appointment, you’ll receive a series of intake forms via email. It’s very important that you set aside some time to fill out these forms as thoroughly and thoughtfully as you can.
Doing so allows me to get a head start on assessing your unique fertility factors and formulating a preliminary treatment plan.

The Initial Consultation
Your first appointment is a time for exploring where you’ve been so far and how Fertile Earth can help get you where you want to be, over tea.
Your first visit includes more time than a standard acupuncture session. It’s an opportunity to debrief on where your TTC experience has taken you so far, a chance for you to tell your story and be fully heard, allowing space to understand your full picture, not just isolated symptoms.
We’ll talk about:
Cycle length and ovulation timing
PMS, spotting, or pain
Sleep, digestion, and stress
Previous pregnancies or losses
IVF or IUI plans, if applicable
Your partner’s role and responsibility in fertility treatment
This information helps guide treatment timing and acupuncture approach.
During your consultation, we discuss patterns rather than labels. From an Eastern Medicine perspective, fertility reflects how systems are functioning together.
We’ll cover what an optimal hormone cycle looks like, how yours is deviating, and how that is likely impacting your fertility.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out, clarity often emerges through conversation.
How Your Treatment Plan Is Structured

Your first fertility acupuncture appointment isn’t about fixing everything at once. It’s about identifying which stage of the Four-Stage Fertility Framework your body needs support with first.
Each stage addresses a particular organ system and its major symptoms of imbalance. We start at the beginning and screen for each stage. If you don’t have any signs that correlate to a particular stage we move on to the next. The process is orderly, but not necessarily linear. Treatment and stage progression evolves as your body responds.
This staged approach allows care to stay precise rather than overwhelming.
The Treatment Itself
You’ll rest comfortably on a warm massage table while you receive acupuncture at specific points on your body. These areas treated are most frequently the lower legs, forearms, and abdomen. Most women are surprised by how gentle this feels.
Wearing loose, comfortable clothes is ideal, but clean sheets are available for coverage should you need to remove tighter-fitting clothing.
Many experience:
Deep relaxation
A sense of calm or warmth
Light sleep during treatment
It’s also pretty common to stay awake and alert, so there’s no need to be attached to a specific outcome.
The acupuncture portion of treatment typically last about 20-30 minutes., after which we’ll have a bit more time to chat and go over any remaining questions you may have.
After Your Session
Ok, so maybe you won’t be fist bumping the sun, but you’ll leave with a renewed sense of hope and support.
It’s common to feel relaxed, grounded, or slightly tired afterward. Some women notice improved sleep that night or subtle cycle changes within the first week.
